white clover lawn, wood, mirrors, indoor grow light
80 × 100 × 100 cm
One square meter of clover lawn (Trifolium repens) from which all trifoliate leaves were cut off.**The title refers to the Bible passage (Leviticus 24, 19-20) from which the so-called “taglione law” originates: historically the first form of proportional punishment to the offence received by the victim and to mirror it. In this event, the specularity reveals its typical paradoxical overturning of reality under the form of revenge against the clovers by the four-leaf clover. This symbol of fortune, in fact, because of its rarity and the diversity that characterizes it, once identified, it is regularly caught leaving intact the conformal mass of the clovers. The good luck associated with the exceptional nature of the four-leaf clover, in this case reveals itself as a source of disgrace and holocaust for what falls under the rules of normality.** The square of clovers was picked up at the countryside choosing a portion of lawn that contained some four leaves clovers. Right now (end of May 2015) the lawn is still intact. On July the 8th all trifoliate leaves will be cut off leaving the two four leaves clovers, which are among the regular ones, alone in a deserted landscape. The same night a dinner/ performance for 80 people will take place with dishes especially conceived to follow the concept of the installation. The dishes main ingredients will be fresh four leaves clovers, peacock eggs, absinthe, organic tobacco, cannabis sativa and squid ink.
