The Dora Maar Cultural Centre is pleased to present the first exhibition in France by Afghan-Canadian artist Hangama Amiri. Hangama Amiri works primarily with textiles to explore notions of home, as well as how gender, social norms, and broader geopolitical conflicts influence the daily lives of women, both in Afghanistan and in the diaspora.
In the stunning setting of the Hotel de Tingry Hangama Amiri’s latest installation, “À travers les objets” unfolds as a poetic convergence of her work and the furnishings that populate this historic venue. Running until September 27, 2025, this exhibition creates a unique dialogue between her practice and the environment, as if these objects and figures have found a much-needed respite after a long journey through space and memory.
